Feed My Starving Children (FMSC)

Schoolchildren being fed at school in the canteen program set up by FMSC.

Classroom elementary school

School children are sitting and writing in their books while the teacher is talking to a boy.

Reforestation

Haiti has been experiencing a dramatic deterioration of its environment since the early 60’s. In this context, UNDP supports the efforts of the Ministry of the Environment, whose roadmap plans for an increase in forest cover of up to 5% in five years.

Hatian Forest

Haiti is a mountainous island surrounded by the Caribbean sea. On the way back to Port-au-Prince from Les Cayes I took this photo to show the typical scenes: water, mountains and palm/banana trees.

Hatian Pig’s

The USA slaughtered the Haitian Pig as a security measure after an epidemic. These three pigs are introduced American Pigs, which are pink in the USA/Canada but which have changed to black, brown or speckled pink.

Ocean- Front view in Haiti

There isn’t always garbage everywhere. This is a scene just past the carrefour area near Port-au-Prince, which is overcrowded and poor. Despite poverty, most beaches and towns are clean and Haiti uses glass bottles for most drinks (cola, etc.) rather than plastic to reduce waste.

School children in the classroom, Hinche

The students are sitting in the classroom, one of them is writing on the board. The teacher is in front of the classroom near the board.

Education in Haiti

A little pre-primary schoolboy drinks water and stands near a bucket of water.

Schoolboys, Port au Prince

Three school boys are standing at the edge of the brick wall of school in Port au Prince

Schoolgirl in Fonds Verrettes

A little girl is standing by herself in a primary school courtyard in Fonds Verrettes.
